Installing MyWorkDrive on a Domain Controller

MyWorkDrive support does not recommend installing and running MyWorkDrive server on a Windows Active Directory Domain Controller. Typically MyWorkDrive should only be installed on a dedicated server or virtual machine.

Known incompatibilities exist when MyWorkDrive is run on a domain controller except in single server environments.

Shares must be located on the same Server as the MyWorkDrive server, as default group policies prevent local logins on Domain Controllers causing file locking issues when shares are not located on the same server as the MyWorkDrive server across the network. Permissions errors may occur when accessing shares on other domain member servers.

Using Active Directory sign in (user/pass), users must be a member of an elevated group to create interactive logons and be able to access shares. Users are not permitted to create interactive logon sessions, and will experience errors accessing shares such as blank shares or notification the share does not exist.
